Young Adult Fiction, Teen Parenting and a Mega Giveaway

Since I've dedicated this month to Tweet for Literacy #Tweet4Lit I find it very appropriate to advertise for a giveaway on Teens Read and Write. They are hosting a Mega Giveaway! I've entered to win some of their books for my two teens and tween. I do have to admit though that I, too, will be reading any of the books we happen to win!

I'm all for Young Adult Fiction. As a late 30 something adult, I do enjoy a lot of YA work. As a parent of young teens I find it my responsibility to know and even read what they are reading. They can read any book they want just as long as I know what it is. If I'm not familiar with the book then I will either read it or google search the book. This is our parenting policy when it comes to their music, friends on facebook, texting, hanging out, etc. Am I a controlling freak of a mom? Absolutely, NOT! LOL What I am though, Is a concerned parent who wants to protect her children and help guide them through these teen years just as I did when they were in the newborn stage, toddler stage, etc.

So who is behind Teens Read and Write?? I found out that the are Teens who review books, movies, sports, and stuff they love! So go check them out and read their reviews and enter their
very first giveaway!!!

Tweet their giveaway and or this blog post using #Tweet4Lit hashtag in the tweet to get entries into the Tweet For Literacy Twitter Giveaways. Click here for details!

I can't believe some of the things that are in YA books. If my mom knew what was in Christopher Pike when I read them almost 20 years ago she would have freaked. Now I know to watch out for my wee one. I even watch Disney movies first. In Cinderella 3 they have a cats tail that's on fire!
